The Freemax Mesh Pro’s Performance
Soon, we’ll talk about the intricate details regarding the Freemax Mesh Pro’s mesh coil design and how it manages to provide such flavorful vapor. For now, let’s talk about the Mesh Pro’s compatible coils and their specifications. This tank is actually compatible with three different mesh coils:
- 0.15 Ohm Single-Mesh Coil Head (included)
- 0.2 Ohm Double-Mesh Coil Head (included)
- 0.15 Ohm Tripple-Mesh Coil Head (not included)
The Mesh Pro’s single-mesh coil can be used at up to 70 watts, making it the least capable of the three coils. Alternatively, the double-mesh coil is compatible with up to 90 watts of power. If you have a device that tops out at 80 or 90 watts, it’ll do just fine.
On the other hand, the triple-mesh coil will allow you to vape at up to 110 watts. If you have a mod that’ll provide 110 watts of power, I highly recommend purchasing these coils. Sadly, the triple-mesh coils aren’t included with the Freemax Mesh Pro, but if you want the best vapor production, they’re the only way to go.
In order to gauge just how good the Mesh Pro’s vapor production is, let’s compare it to an RDA. After all, RDAs are the real cloud kings. Granted this is due in part to the fact that they don’t really have a maximum wattage.
For the sake of this comparison, let’s just say that both the RDA and the Freemax Mesh Pro are being operated at 110 Watts. A good RDA with high-quality coils would be neck and neck with the Freemax Mesh Pro. Of course, there are a lot of variables to consider, like the coil type and the number of coils being used.
The point is that, as of now, mesh tanks can easily produce vapor on par with an RDA, given they’re being operated at the same wattage. As a regular RDA user, I can personally speak to this. I’ve used both, and the vapor production just isn’t that different.
This shows how far mesh coil technology has come. Just a year ago, mesh coils were more of a cool idea than a functional product. Mesh tanks have come a long way, but even now, none of the other mesh coil tanks are performing on par with the Freemax Mesh Pro. As of now, it’s the standard for flavor-oriented tanks everywhere.

As previously stated, the Freemax Mesh Pro utilizes mesh coils: coils that consist of several small wires that have been woven together, kind of like a wicker basket. The problem with standard vape coils is their comparatively lacking surface area.
I say “comparatively,” because a lot of the standard coils out there are made with specialty wire that’s designed to maximize the coil’s surface area. For regular coils, their surface area is actually considered to be very good.
However, mesh coils are an entirely different kind of beast. Mesh coils solve the surface area problem with their intricate and innovative design. Let’s briefly take a look at this design, how it works, and why it’s so much better for your vapor’s flavor.
The Mesh Coil’s Superior Surface Area
While typical coils can do a very good job covering most of your wicking material, the mesh coil’s design tends to result in a surface area that’s far superior to that of a regular coil.
The mesh coil’s use of multiple interwoven wires results in a very dense surface area, which is great for vapor production. Put simply, more surface area means more contact with the wicking material, and more contact with the wicking material means more vapor production.

The Problem with Regular Coils
Typically, regular coils have a little space in between their individual wraps. Even if that space isn’t visible, the amount of contact with the wick is almost always reduced in that in-between space.
Sometimes, that space will even become more pronounced due to the coils being heated repeatedly. The heat causes the metal to constantly expand and contract, and it isn’t uncommon for the coil’s shape to change over time as a result.
For this reason, a regular coil can’t evenly distribute heat across the surface of its wick like a mesh coil can. The everyday coil’s uneven distribution of heat across its wicking material results in uneven vaporization, which negatively impacts your vapor’s flavor.

The Mesh Pro offers a wide variety of styles, and I’d assume that almost anyone could find at least one that appeals to them. Personally, the metal Freemax Mesh Pro appeals to me the most. Everyone’s taste will vary, which is why it’s so awesome that Freemax gave us so many options to choose from.
The Freemax Mesh Pro’s Build Quality
This is a well-constructed tank that clearly had a lot of thought put into its design. It has a lot of little design details that give the tank a perceived premium quality. The parts all fit together very well, and I haven’t experienced any leaks.
Precision machining and the use of high-quality materials lead me to believe that every version of the Freemax Mesh Pro should hold up very well over time. In terms of the Freemax Mesh Pros build quality, I have no complaints. It’s a very solid tank.
The Mesh Pro offers a wide range of airflow options, thanks to its large, adjustable airflow slots. If you prefer loose airflow, it has you covered. Both of these adjustable airflow slots are located at the bottom of the tank, and each is 3.5mm by 11mm.
The Freemax Mesh Pro’s airflow system will provide a very airy vape session if that’s what you like. Otherwise, you can adjust the airflow to make it as tight or as loose as you prefer. When it comes to airflow, I look for customizability and effectiveness, and the Mesh Pro nails both.
Best Mod For The Freemax Mesh Pro
If you’re looking for a new mod to use with the Freemax Mesh Pro, I have the perfect mod for you. Everyone’s preferences will vary, but in terms of compatibility, you can’t do better than the Oceanus by Innokin.
Why is the Oceanus the ideal mod to use with the Freemax Mesh Pro? Well, the Mesh Pro is a 25mm tank that can be used with up to 110 Watts of power. It just so happens that the Oceanus supports tanks and RDAs up to 25mm in diameter, and it maxes out at exactly 110 watts.
The two fit together so well that you’d think they were made for one another. On top of the uncanny compatibility, the Innokin Oceanus is just a great mod in its own right.
